The mission of the Council of Independent Nebraska Colleges Foundation (CINC Foundation) defines the organization’s core purpose and reason for existence:
- To enhance and promote independent, not-for-profit higher education in Nebraska
- To serve as a collective voice for excellence and choice in higher education for all students
- To provide supplemental financial support for students attending the Foundation’s member colleges and universities.
Our History
The CINC Foundation, originally founded in July 1953 as the Nebraska Independent College Foundation (NICF), represents Nebraska’s independent higher education sector and operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit fundraising organization.
The CINC Foundation’s membership includes 13 postsecondary institutions: Bellevue University, Bryan College of Health Sciences, Clarkson College, College of Saint Mary, Concordia University, Creighton University, Doane University, Hastings College, Midland University, Nebraska Methodist College, Nebraska Wesleyan University, Union Adventist University, and York University.
Like its member institutions, the Foundation is dedicated to expanding access to high-quality higher education for students from diverse backgrounds and communities across Nebraska and beyond.
